Questions about grout cleaning and sealing

Common questions

What do you need from me for a price?

Your ZIP code, the square footage, whether it is a floor or a shower, and whether the tile is ceramic or porcelain or natural stone such as marble, travertine or slate.

How do I measure square footage?

Multiply length by width for each floor area and add them up. For a shower, add each wall (width times height) and the floor. A standard shower is about 80 to 100 square feet of tile.

Is there a minimum?

Yes. Small jobs are charged a minimum visit, which depends on your area. The quote shows it when it applies.

Do I have to pay online?

No. You can pay online to book, or send your request and pay after the job is done.

What if the square footage is different on the day?

The crew measures before starting. If the area is clearly bigger or smaller than the quote, the price is adjusted to the same rate before any work begins.

Do you clean natural stone?

Yes, with stone-safe products. Acidic cleaners etch marble, travertine and limestone, so tell us the tile type when you book.

Can you fix cracked or missing grout?

Yes, that is regrouting, and it is priced by quote. Choose Regrouting and tile repair in the quote form and add photos if you can.

Is grout cleaning the same as mold removal?

No. Cleaning removes surface staining and mildew from grout. Mold behind tile, or a leak, needs a remediation specialist, and the crew will tell you if that is what they see.

How do I look after my grout afterwards?

Sweep or vacuum first, then mop with a pH-neutral cleaner and change the water when it gets dirty. Skip bleach, vinegar and oily products.
