Shower and Tub Grout Cleaning

Showers stain differently from floors. Soap scum, body oils and mineral scale need their own method.

A shower gets wet every day and rarely dries all the way. Soap and body oils leave a film, hard water leaves scale, and the grout at the bottom of the walls and around the drain darkens first.

We clean the walls, the floor or tub surround, niches and benches, rinse with extraction, and leave the grout ready for sealing if you add it.

What the visit covers

  • Pre-treatment of soap scum, scale and mildew staining on the grout
  • Brush agitation of every joint on the walls and floor
  • Niches, benches, curbs and the joints around the drain
  • A rinse with extraction so the residue leaves the shower
  • Optional clear sealing or color sealing on the same visit

How to measure a shower

Add each tiled wall (width times height) and the shower floor. A standard tub surround or walk-in shower is roughly 80 to 100 square feet of tile.

Mildew and mold

Cleaning removes mildew staining from the surface of the grout. Mold that keeps coming back from behind the tile, soft grout or a leak is a different problem; the crew will tell you if that is what they see, and we do not promise a shower is mold-free.

Frequently asked questions

How long before I can shower again?

After cleaning only, as soon as the crew is done. After sealing, wait the cure time the crew gives you, usually until the next day.

Can you clean a stone shower?

Yes, with stone-safe products. Marble and travertine showers must never get acidic cleaners, so tell us the tile type when you book.

Does it include the glass door?

The focus is the tile and grout. Tell us in the notes if you want the glass done and we will confirm it.
